When it comes to politics, I'm a conservative, perhaps even a bit of a republican. It wasn't always that way, but as I moved from the carefree liberalism of my college years through the harsh working world, the general tenor of the republican/conservative party line seemed to make a lot more sense in pursuit of financial security and safety for me and my family.
That said, I think there is a parallel dimension where political parties fade away and we just need to do things that are intelligent in the hopes of building a better world for ourselves and a better future for the Earthlings and flora and fauna that post-dates us.
My vision with this blog is to develop a new set of ideals that aren't liberal, conservative, democratic, republican or anything like that. I heard the term "intelligent optimism" in a very cool magazine called "Ode" and it made a lot of sense to me. I think this is a movement that could help us all make a difference without having to sacrifice an important principle: be nice to other humans.
